Book a phone appointment

The first step is to talk to us about what's happened.

If you're dealing with a problem involving your dog, you probably have questions about what to do next.

You may have received a letter from Council. Your dog may have bitten or rushed at someone. You may be facing a classification or Court proceedings. You may be worried about veterinary treatment or involved in a dispute about who owns your dog.

Whatever has happened, start with a phone appointment.

You'll speak with us about your situation, what matters now, and what you should do next.

You don't need to work everything out before you book.

That's what the appointment is for.

Tell us what's happened. We'll ask the questions we need to understand the situation and help you work out your better next step.

Sometimes that will be something you can do yourself.

Sometimes there will be something that needs attention quickly.

And sometimes you may need further legal help.

The first step is finding out what you should do – and, just as importantly, what you shouldn't.

Not sure which appointment to choose?

A useful rule is simply to ask yourself how long it will take to tell us what happened.

If you can explain the important background in a few minutes, 20 minutes is usually a good place to start.

If the history is more complicated or you have documents and several questions to work through, we recommend a 40 minute appointment as a better fit to ensure we have enough time to cover everything without needing a follow-up call.

What happens after I book?

You'll choose an available appointment time.

We will then get in touch to provide you a form where you can give us some information about what has happened and a link to upload any documents.

That gives us some context before we speak, so that, at the appointment, we can focus on your situation and finding the best way forward for you.

You don't need to have all the details. And you don't need to decide whether you want to take the matter further.

Just start by talking with us.
